Some great new techniques and flavours in this class. A savoury and earthy Mapo Dofu (Silken Tofu) with minced marinated pork,fermented black beans, sichuan peppercorns, garlic, chiliies and green onions. Next will make slippery or sliky chicken slices with assorted Chinese mushrooms and a rich umami flavoured sauce. Another dish will be a Cantonese favorite of crispy fried noodles with shrimp, bean sprouts, peppers and green onions ina a tasty sauce seasoned with sesame oil. We will also make a steamed Chinese vegetable of Shanghai bok choy or gai lan (Chinese Brocolli). Steamed rice of course and dessert of caramelized pineapple with coconut creme anglaise and vanilla ice cream !
